Micro-renting your car in SyncroniCity

Los Angeles - Submitted by CrazyI on Jan 22 2014

I imagine a ‘make’ experience where an autonomous vehicle drops you off at a restaurant and goes off and does its thing (parks, refuels, ferrys someone else around and 'makes' money for you). It ‘knows’ that it needs to be back in ~one hour…so it won’t take a paid gig longer than that. As you begin to pay your restaurant bill, the car begins it’s journey back to where you are and arrives within 60 seconds of you coming out the door. And off you go on your next journey.

NOW it's your turn...

Traffic in general is a dynamic system, which may hinder the precision required in the original statement. Accidents and changes in traffic density would be an issue in planning the time that a vehicle is available.

Personal scheduling can easily become a problem here. If you are trying to rent a car multiple times in a day, and one person is late, then the car owner could subsequently fail to meet the expectations of multiple prospective renters during the day.
