Cloud School

Singapore - Submitted by Arkivist on Jan 23 2014

20% of Singapore students will be attending cloud school. Aims at a diverse group of student ranging from children with disability, handicap, special needs, health and hygiene issues and introverts.

Schools environment may not be the best place or only place to learn or have an education, as Sugata Mitra said in his Ted talk, β€œIt's quite fashionable to say that the education system's broken β€” it's not broken, it's wonderfully constructed. It's just that we don't need it anymore. It's outdated.”

Issues like air pollution, falling sick, common flu, chicken pox, head lice manifestation the list goes on, prevents a student from going to school.

My wish is to Make Online Learning more personalized and accessible to people who need it.

NOW it's your turn...

Handheld devices have been around for quite sometime now, with introduction of iPads and tablet computers, our interaction with the virtual space have already blend into our reality, a walk at the park physically yet virtually connected to a location based game, with live streaming music and messages exchange from friends, sharing a photo to instagram, all these happens during a short 15mins walk! What will 2025 looks like?

With a little help of programming and design thinking we can certainly achieve that, i like how http://www.lumosity.com/ perform a series of questions to personalize the player experience and customize the training game accordingly. Educators, programmers, designer have to come together and MAKE learning happen!

I agree with you, The role of a teacher is also to be a learning coach, to be their mother and father in school while both parents are at work. Cultural differences can be seem as diversity in the virtual classroom, where student engage in conversation and know others better, communicate with Google translate solves and language barries. Our future looks good!
